Homeland Day Nursery | 87 Navigation Road | Altrincham | Cheshire | WA14 1LJ | STAFF PORTAL

All the different areas at Homeland Day Nursery provide a happy ‘home from home’ atmosphere where all our children feel secure as they develop.

We provide a 3-week rotational menu with many cooked meals at the Nursery which includes a different Spring/ Summer menu and an Autumn/ Winter menu. A nutritious and varied diet is provided every day with any special medical or cultural needs catered for.

Each child is assigned a key carer, giving parents confidence that even though we have a team of staff, there is an individual responsible for monitoring the development of your child. Key carers, through their observations can see what children enjoy and where their next steps are needed.

The nursery has four main areas namely; Pooh Corner, Hundred Acre Wood, Rabbits House and Tiggers Place. Find out more about each of our rooms below.

Pooh Corner

Pooh Corner is a delightful and spacious baby unit with no more than 9 babies at a time, situated in a cosy area of the main nursey. Our qualified nursery practitioners care for the little ones in a gentle and stimulating environment.

We have a sheltered outdoor area with artificial grass where the babies play. The babies also sleep outside in large cosy prams as it is shown that babies generally sleep better in cooler temperatures so the cool air from outside can help them sleep longer. Also, older babies get stimulated by their surroundings very easily and being outside can have a calming effect, lulling them to sleep.

We also have our own cosy milk kitchen area where bottles can be prepared individually.

Hundred Acre Wood

Hundred Acre Wood is situated within the ground floor of the nursery. Here the younger toddlers have a large through-room and direct access to the outdoor area.

The room is bright and homely with no more than 12 children at a time. In the room we encourage free play, with varied activities throughout. While encouraging individuality we provide children with every opportunity to develop socially and emotionally, working with them to aid in the development in ways such as learning to share with others and playing happily alongside others too.

Here we focus on their prime areas from the EYFS framework of Personal, Social and Emotional, Communication and Language and Physical. Children also take part in Music with Anne-Marie and Music with Polly. There is direct access to the bathroom from the room.
