Pooh Corner (approx 3 months to 18 months)

Pooh Corner is a delightful and spacious baby unit with no more than 9 babies at a time, situated in a quiet area of the main nursery, and our milk kitchen enables us to prepare drinking bottles individually. Our qualified nursery practitioners care for the little ones in a gentle and stimulating environment.

We have a sheltered outdoor area with artificial grass where the babies play. Babies and young children also sleep outside in the rear garden in Silver Cross prams or push chairs that have been suitably laid flat. We carefully monitor the babies and children throughout their rest periods and consistently find that the fresh outdoor air aids sleep. During cooler months, families are encouraged to provide sleepsuits. Children also take part in Music with Becca.

Hundred Acre Wood is situated within the ground floor of the nursery. The room is clean, bright, and homely with no more than 12 children at a time. Here the younger toddlers have a large through-room and direct access to the bathroom and the outdoor area.

In the Hundred Acre Wood room we encourage free play, with varied activities throughout. While promoting individuality, we provide children with every opportunity to develop socially and emotionally. For example, we help children to learn to share and to play happily alongside others. Here we focus on the prime areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework, namely the areas of ‘Personal, Social and Emotional’ learning, ‘Communication and Language’ and ‘Physical’. Children also take part in Music with Becca.
