Environment

We promote the welfare of every child in our care, at every stage of their development, ensuring that everyone in the “Homeland Family” has a truly positive experience. We take great pride in all that we do for the children within our lovely, well presented building and grounds.

Outdoor Area

Here at Homeland we have a fantastic and secure outdoor area shaded by mature trees. We enjoy the large sheltered outdoor space, hard play area, and the beautiful grassed area. We also have planting troughs for the children, a mud kitchen, a large sand pit, a climbing frame and slide, sound wall, large wooden blocks and much more. Children have access to the outside classroom area at least twice a day, come rain or shine!

Outdoor sleeping

Babies and young children also sleep outside in the rear garden in Silver Cross prams or push chairs that have been suitably laid flat. We carefully monitor the babies and children throughout their rest periods and consistently find that the fresh outdoor air aids sleep. During cooler months, families are encouraged to provide sleepsuits.

Staff Team

We are delighted that several team members have been at Homeland for many years, some with 20+ years’ service. All our team members have a passion for childcare, and they are approachable and friendly. The team are all Enhanced DBS checked, and are well trained. Our staff team has a range of childcare qualifications from Level 2 to Qualified Teacher Status, which has been achieved by our owner and two team members. Our manager has also been Montessori trained and brings that knowledge and aspects of that philosophy to the Nursery. All team members are up-to-date with their Safeguarding and First Aid training and have regular updates at staff meetings.

Key Carers

Each child is assigned a key carer, giving Parents and Carers confidence that even though we have a team of staff, there is an individual responsible for monitoring the development of your child. Key carers carefully observe their key children to fully understand what they enjoy doing, and how we can further develop their learning using their personal interests.

Meals

We are proud that our current Food Standard Agency Rating is 5 and we have achieved the Trafford Early Years Healthy Setting Award. Our popular and experienced cooks provide a three week rotational menu which changes each season of the year. We provide a nutritious and varied diet including vegetarian options. We list the menus on our interactive app, and we update Parents and Carers each day online and by speaking to you in person at the end of your child’s session, with information about their day and their appetites! We are allergy aware and are happy to discuss any specific dietary needs with you.
